SRMC

As a requirement of NCI designation and a critical facet of the success of our clinical trials program, the Scientific Review & Monitoring Committee analyzes all proposals for clinical trials to provide effective and unique treatment opportunities for Rhode Island cancer patients.

Our Protocol Review and Management System is used across our partnered health systems to review clinical trial proposals prior to submission to the Institutional Review Board. Clinical trials are evaluated for scientific merit, methodology and statistical design, institutional priority, and monitor progress of studies, to select the strongest trials that fulfill the vision of our cancer center.

The Committee members hold significant experience and depth of expertise to perform critical and sound scientific review of all cancer-relevant clinical research which prioritizes the needs of our catchment area and community.
