Description

Olin Liang, PhDMolecular biology methods to stably over-express and knock-out a gene in cells and tissues have become indispensable in biomedical research, including cancer. Lentivirus-mediated over-expression and CRISPR knock-out techniques are particularly powerful due to their efficiency and the capability of infecting dividing and non-dividing cells. Given the significant need and demand to use such techniques, we have established our Lentivirus Core through the Stem Cells and Aging COBRE to serve the greater research community at Brown, Brown University Health, Providence VA and beyond. Our Lentivirus Core offers: 1) Lentivirus-mediated Stable Gene Over-expression in Cells, 2) Lentivirus-mediated CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Knock-out in Cells, 3) Site-directed Mutagenesis, and 4) Virus Packaging.

Goals

The goal of our resource is to facilitate the growing demands of investigators that are pursuing innovative ideas with cutting-edge technologies, and to further enhance their competitiveness to secure federal research funding.
